If your 100% swing is faster, then your 90% controlled swing will be faster. It is this swing that we want you to take to the course. Controlled. Fast. Long.

  • Steve's max club head speed is 100mph
  • On course, his controlled (90%) speed is 90mph
  • He buys the RG speedstick and follows the RG 12-week training plan 
  • Steve adds 10mph to his max swing speed
  • His max swing is now 110mph 
  • Steve's 90% swing is now 99mph, +9mph
  • He gains 14-15mph ball speed and 20-30 yards of additional carry

Force Generation

Our ability to produce force will contribute to our speed. The best way to increase our

force production is through strength and power training. 

Speed of Contraction

The faster we can generate force, the more club head speed we are able to produce.

We need to train our impulse with a combination of both speed of muscle contraction and also how fast the signal is sent from the brain. By moving lighter loads, faster, we can start to train this system to its full capacity. 

Distance (club head)

The further the club head travels, the more opportunity there is for speed. A driver travels a lot further than an 8 iron and as a result travels faster. Working on our mobility in key areas can help lengthen our backswing, allowing a longer distance for the club head to accelerate and present more speed at impact.
